I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years of clinical experience, working primarily with gender-diverse children, adolescents, and their families. I practice in Baltimore under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), providing care via telehealth to youth and their families in PSYPACT states across the country. (Check here to see if you live in a PSYPACT state.) I am a WPATH-certified gender specialist.
I received my B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin with Highest Honors and Special Honors in Psychology; I'm a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I obtained my M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Denver. I was an intern at Baylor College of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellow at Texas Children’s Hospital.
I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and the American Psychological Association, and I serve on the board of the United States Professional Association for Transgender Health. I have taught gender and sexuality courses as an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, and Virginia Commonwealth University. I speak nationally and internationally on issues pertaining to transgender care, particularly in the areas of youth, cultural competence, and professional ethics. I was named a 2017 Outstanding Virginian by Equality Virginia, and I received the Visionary Award from Charlotte Trans Health in 2022.
